SONOPTICON 99
FAR (Foundation for Art Resources) presents SONOPTICON-99, a weekend of
site-specific work by over 30 sound and light artists who experiment in the
fields of music, installation art, and technology. Working collaboratively,
or simultaneously, all light performances will be accompanied by live mixing
and deejaying of pre-recorded sound.
Daytime programming will feature low impact studies in ambient sound and
light, while night time programming will feature high impact spectacles of
audio and visual explosions. SONOPTICON-99 will bring together an audience
interested in architecture, theater design, film and music as well as
visual arts. An array of artists both familiar and new to the
improvisational form will participate. Admission is $ 3.00.

work not supported by traditional galleries, museums, universities or
other arts organizations. FAR remains committed to presenting art in
all media and concepts that further an understanding of the relationship
of art practice to history and social context, audience and critical
theory.
