The Foundation for Art Resources ( F.A.R. ) was founded in 1977 to facilitate the production and presentation of work by artists who challenge and expand the boundaries of established notions of art and art making. Within the Los Angeles region, FAR aims to act as a catalyst for activities that foster dialogue and interaction between artists and the public. F.A.R. is a non-profit arts organization. Functioning without a permanent exhibition space, office or paid staff, FAR's programs and services are organized and administered by a board of Directors who meet bimonthly, and a Board of Advisors. These boards are comprised of artists, arts professionals, and those with vested interest to serve the organization. The Board of Directors is responsible for all aspects of F.A.R.'s programming, policymaking, fundraising, grant writing and administration. There is no director, and all decisions are determined by consensus. Volunteers are welcome, and encouraged to contact us.
